George Anastasiades - Co-Managing Partner
George oversees Somana’s institutional structuring and governance interface, working closely with family offices, investment funds and banking counterparties on cross-border advisory mandates.
Background
George initially qualified as a Chartered Accountant in Australia and brings over 25 years of experience spanning international taxation, private investment and cross-border advisory. He has advised institutional and UHNW clients on complex investment vehicles and multi-jurisdictional transactions.
He began his career at PwC in Australia before relocating to Ireland, where he advised global financial institutions at Andersen/KPMG.
In London, he later founded a boutique investment advisory firm specialising in private equity and leveraged currency strategies, collaborating with fund administrators, leading international law firms and institutional investors on documentation, oversight and operational implementation.
More recently, he played a central role in establishing a Single Family Office managing over $200 million in assets, where he implemented governance frameworks and coordinated administrator, custodian and external legal relationships.
Craig Somerset - Co-Managing Partner
Craig leads strategic partnerships, institutional relationship origination and cross-border commercial alignment across Somana’s advisory platform.
Background
Craig brings over 20 years of experience across wealth management, alternative investments and cross-border advisory. He specialises in structuring international commercial frameworks, private capital and building scalable platforms across emerging markets.
He began his career in the UK before relocating to Dubai, where he held senior advisory roles at leading international financial institutions, including Barclays. He later advised a prominent single-family office, before moving to Royal Bank of Canada Wealth Management in London, where he advised UHNW clients across the Middle East and Asia-Pacific.
Craig subsequently co-founded strategic advisory firms in Malaysia and Singapore, supporting SMEs and government-linked companies with cross-border expansion, partner alignment, commercial framework structuring and practical market entry execution.
Christian Rurangwa, Business Development Executive, East & Central Africa
At Somana, Christian supports the development of new client engagements across East and Central Africa.
Background
He is also the founder of Opina Ltd, one of Africa’s fastest-growing agri-tech, logistics, and trading companies. With over a decade of experience in agri-commodity trading, logistics, and farm management, Christian has built strong relationships across regional value chains, connecting producers, importers, and industrial manufacturers throughout Africa.
A Finance graduate with more than ten years in the financial sector, Christian combines technical insight with leadership.
He is an Executive alumnus of Renew Capital (USA), G.A.P. Certified, and an ANAU AgriTech alumnus (Armenia).
